The Rabbit Foot Fern is a unique and charming epiphytic fern, famous for its fuzzy, creeping rhizomes that grow over the edge of the pot. These rhizomes, covered in soft brown hairs, resemble animal paws (rabbit or squirrel feet), giving the plant its name. It has delicate, lacy green fronds that emerge from these distinctive “feet.”

Care Guide
Light
Prefers medium to bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch its fronds.
Temperature
Enjoys average to warm room temperatures (18-24°C / 65-75°F) and high humidity.
Water
Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Allow the top inch to dry slightly between waterings. The rhizomes prefer humidity but should not sit in constantly wet soil.
Soil
Use a very loose, chunky, and well-draining mix (e.g., orchid bark, sphagnum moss, perlite). It is often grown in shallow pots or mounted to mimic its epiphytic nature.
Pet Friendly
Generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, making it a safer choice for pet households.
